Thelma Engelbrecht began her journey with Astrapak in 2004 when she worked at Cinqplast in Internal Sales, dealing with the top 10 key accounts during that period. In 2008, she was promoted to Internal Sales Manager at Cinqplast, where she was responsible for the sales team and the day-to-day dealings with customers.
In 2015, with Cinqplast no longer a part of the Astrapak Group, Engelbrecht became the Key Account Manager for the Group’s Astramoulding Division, representing products manufactured out of Pak2000, JJ Precision Plastics, Plastop KZN, Consupaq and Marcom Plastics.
Having always dealt with key accounts since her start in 2004, Engelbrecht has grown with her customers, particularly on the homecare and personal care accounts, to such a degree that with the recent introduction of new products, the food markets was added to her portfolio too. Engelbrecht is adjusting well to the changes in her valuable role and has applied the same passion and emphasis to customer centricity in all she does.
“It has been a steady growth path for me with the people within the factories,” said Engelbrecht. “Contacts within customer organisations are regularly changing their job positions and with these changes instead of seeing this as hurdle I see it as an opportunity as my network keeps growing. I love my job and putting in the extra time as it reaps the rewards for me personally and most importantly for Astrapak.”
Although selling out of the five different factories can be challenging at times with regards to varying product launches and differing supply pressures, Engelbrecht has embraced the challenges within the food, personal care and homecare markets at Astrapak and has become an integral liaison between the Group and their Key customers.
“Sales is my passion – I can’t see myself working anywhere else. I love dealing with people, our customers and the different factories at Astrapak.”
